Brett Marshall is an Aquatic Entomologist whose first entomology gig was curating a university aquatic entomology collection in 1987. He attended the University of Wisconsin (biology, chemistry, aquatic community focus), Virginia Tech (aquatic entomology), and Montana State (aquatic ecology). His research on the benthic ecology of Appalachian headwater streams earned him awards from the national and regional branches of the Entomological Society of America. In the 1990s, Brett Managed the Invertebrate Zoology Research Section of the Patrick Center for Environmental Research--a division of the Academy of Natural Sciences--now affiliated with Drexel University--where he maintains the position of Senior Adjunct Aquatic Entomologist.
The name of his consulting laboratory, River Continuum Concepts, is a play on words reflecting his technical approach to study design and his affiliation with the Academy (e.g., Vannote 1980). If you need to work with us as a non-profit, we can arrange with the Academy, but with their overhead rate, it is usually easier (and cheaper) to contract directly through River Continuum Concepts.
Brett is a high-functioning PTSD veteran. Aquatic Entomology and obsession with invertebrates have been sources of joy and therapy for many years. Your study is too important to be somebody's learning experience.
